Art and medicine, architecture and science opened the door to the career of Steven S. Orten, M.D. His desire to help people greatly influenced his decision to become a doctor. His training in architecture and medicine led to his chosen specialty of Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, where he combines the disciplines of both. Dr. Orten has 15 years experience and special training in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He is well regarded as a facial plastic and cosmetic surgeon and is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. His primary specialty of practice is Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Orten's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma. In 1992, Dr. Orten received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, graduating number one in his class. Upon graduation, he completed a general surgery internship at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and a fiveyear residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Arkansas. To further his expertise in facial plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Orten went on to complete a fellowship at the University of Minnesota in Facial Plastic, Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery, where he served as a fellow and an instructor. To remain current with the latest and most
innovative techniques, Dr. Orten participates in continuing
education courses, seminars, workshops and conferences.
Dr. Orten and his family reside in Dallas, Texas. They are active members of Irving Church of Christ where Dr. Orten serves as a deacon. His heart for volunteer and medical mission work has led him to Africa to perform cleft lip, palate, and other reconstructive procedures.
