Scar Revision
Scars, whether a result from accidents, surgery, or disease, may often be improved, lightened, or made less visible.
Multiple techniques are used to make scars less conspicuous. Revising scars with surgery can put them in more hidden locations in natural creases or into hair-bearing locations. Dermabrasion or laser resurfacing can flatten or remove redness of scars. Steroid injections may flatten and make scars less tender, especially when the scars are the raised, red scars of Keloid formation.
Dr. Orten can discuss the type of procedure or treatment that is best for the type and location of your scar.
